The students' resilience continually inspires me. They teach me something new every day. Our risograph broke down recently, and it felt like my heart was shattered since it’s so crucial to my work. However, tackling the problem and finding creative solutions has been enjoyable. When you gather a room full of creative people, no technical issue can prevent you from crafting things with your hands.

This rack was passed down to us from the print shop, and it's delightful to see it filled with student work again. Although it's damaged, we've made the most of it. It used to be in the printmaking lab, where many people stored their exceptional prints. It's truly a work of art itself!

The students motivated me to create. We only had two tote bags available in the lab. I suggested they play rock, paper, scissors to decide who would get one, but everyone was kind enough to let someone else have it. They are truly considerate. Their gesture inspired me to make some tote bags from scratch. I visited Joann Fabric to buy some materials. Initially, I planned to order them from Amazon, but I decided it would be better to visit the store. To my disappointment, I discovered that Joann is closing soon after 84 years in business! Nothing lasts forever. Shopping habits are changing, with more people moving online, which affects businesses.

Coming soon! I'm using the 3D printer again. I tried making ceramic stamps with it. Stamps can be expensive, so printing them could save a lot. One benefit of the risograph being down is that it led me to try other lab equipment, including the 3D printer. It was gathering dust, and I initially thought it was broken, but it’s not! However, it took three hours to print a 6-sided cube/stamp, each side with a different design. I found more open resources to print cylindrical stamps for texture. I’m eager to print and test them out tomorrow!
